aspiring full-stack developer
Aspiring changemaker based out of Seattle, WA
I am a sophomore at the University of Washington majoring in Computer Science. I was born and raised in Everett, Washington although my family is from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to church, playing sports, and watching movies.
I'm involved in a few organizations at the UW, including AVELA (A Vision for Engineering Access & Literacy), where I help expose underrepresented students to STEM—something I wish I had more of growing up. I'm also part of the Brotherhood Initiative, which has helped me build community and navigate college as a student of color, and I serve as a Resident Advisor, creating a safe and inclusive environment for students in the dorms.
I aspire to become a Software Engineer in the future and make the world a safer and more accessible place for all people through the use of Computer Science and Technology.
